Skills development workshop for ASYE assessors

The North London Social Work Teaching Partnership has organised a one day skills development workshop for social workers undertaking the role of an Assessor for a Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) doing the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.

If you are a social worker and/or manager from either Children’s or Adults Services and are working with a NQSW, or may be taking on the Assessor role in the near future, this workshop is for you. This is an excellent opportunity to share your experience with others, learn more about the key skills and tasks involved and make your final recommendations.

The aims of the workshop are to:

—     Consider best practice in supervision and how to support the NQSW’s personal development in their first year of practice

—     Facilitate planning for observations and provide constructive developmental feedback

—     Support your NQSW to develop skills in critical reflection and analysis

—     Make progressive assessment decisions using the PCF and KSS and successfully complete the paperwork and assist
with ASYE portfolio completion
