INTRODUCTION:

Covid-19 has meant that many local authorities have had to move parts of their service delivery online; this includes some home visits, reviews and child protection conferences and direct work with children. This has offered new possibilities for digital practice. This webinar will examine some possible approaches and variations of engaging in direct work with children and young people online.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Preparing practitioners for direct work and using direct tools with children and young people online;
  • Creating safe spaces and enhancing practitioners’ awareness of the ethics of direct work online.
  • Sharpening the focus of direct work online and engaging children and young people online in a developmentally-appropriate manner;
  • Introducing practitioners to a range of online tools and approaches to direct work with young people;
  • Recording direct work and tools.
