UK’s first ever MBA in Social Work launched

Through a joint collaboration with Middlesex University’s Business School and Social Work Department within the School of Health and Education, The North London Social Work Teaching Partnership successfully launched a new MBA (Social Work) on 18 and 19 October 2018, the first of its kind in the UK. Dr Lucille Allain and Dr Mary Hartog led the facilitation of the two-day launch.

The programme, funded by the North London Social Work Teaching Partnership, sits alongside the MA Leadership and Management Social Work also funded by the Partnership. The new MBA supports the development of transformational leadership skills and knowledge in social work and aims to deliver excellence in leadership practice.

The programme is the second joint collaboration between the Business School and the Social Work Team, Department of Mental Health and Social Work, in the Faculty of Professional and Social Services.

The team had previously launched a new MA in Leadership and Management (Social Work) in mid-September 2018.
